I'm delighted to tell you about Fred Walkington's book about the Bridlington Lifeboat. The lifeboat service has been an integral part of Bridlington's history for many years - see the page with photographs of the re-dedication of the lifeboat on its 200th anniversary.

There are 150 pages in the book, which is somewhat larger than A5. The 47 illustrations are scattered throughout the pages, all in black and white.

The lifeboats of the past are discussed and pictured, with plenty of detail culled from reports and newspaper cuttings. A full chapter is devoted to The Medal and Vellum Certificate Services, including Fred's own many awards.

This is a wonderful book, full of information, much of it not revealed before. For anyone with an interest in Bridlington history, or lifeboats in particular, this would make an excellent gift.
